Mr. Rene Christiansen retired as a Major from the Danish Armed Forces in 2009 where he served for 32 years with the last 25 years in logistics. Additionally, since 1998, Rene has been a member of NATO's Asset Tracking Interservice Working Group and continues as Chair to the Technical Panel of the Working Group. Attend this session to understand the many details and progressions that have been underway to ensure global asset tracking initiatives.

NATO and the Successful Adoption of Unique Identification of Items

Understand the status of UID of Items implementation and the development of cooperative tools and capabilities to leverage the NATO codification system. Learn how UID will support effective decision-making by exploiting Systems Lifecycle Management (SLCM) and enable the efficient linkage of business processes through the application of International standards. By instituting standardized and permanent unique item identifiers, NATO will improve logistics interoperability and exchange of life cycle event details. Implementation will enhance operational interoperability as well as enable coordinated logistics and cooperative acquisition information.

A Case Study: A Complete UID System Delivered to the Norwegian Company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace
